Prepare for Notarization: 5 Tips Every Customer Should Know

Tip #1: Bring Valid Identification

Before your notarization appointment, make sure to bring a valid, government-issued ID. This could be a driver’s license, passport, or other state-recognized ID. Proper identification is required to verify your identity and complete the notarization process securely.

Ensure that your document is fully completed before you arrive for notarization. Notaries are not allowed to fill in any blanks or make corrections. If you have any questions about how to complete your document, ask us in advance, and we’ll help guide you through the process.

All signers must be physically present when the document is notarized. If you’re unable to be there in person, we offer convenient remote notarization services that allow you to complete the process virtually. This is a great option for busy individuals or those who can’t meet in person.

Different documents require different types of notarizations. Whether you need an acknowledgment, jurat, or another form, it’s important to know which one applies to your document. If you’re unsure, just ask us—we can help determine the right type for your needs

Once your document is notarized, be sure to keep a copy for your records. Having a copy ensures that you always have proof of the notarization when you need it for legal or financial purposes. We can provide you with both a certified copy and the original notarized document for your convenience
